We help parents to understand their children's reports by providing a summary of what the report contains, feedback on the contents and advice on next steps. We can do this in person, over the telephone or via video call.
We offer an EHCP application writing service and guide parents in applying for an EHCP themselves or as part of schools application. We can guide parents in applying for an EHCP if the child/young person's school/college will not apply.
Some local authorities have their own online forms, but we can also make the request by letter. We support with obtaining parents' and child's views for the appropriate EHCP sections.
We assist parents through the mediation process and applying to the First-tier Tribunal if their local authority turns down a request for an assessment, refuses to issue an EHCP after assessment, refuses to make changes to a draft EHCP or doesn't name the preferred school. We will review paperwork, summarise concerns and list points for discussion.
We provide an EHCP checking service; we read all reports attached to the EHCP and ensure that all appropriate information is included and that the EHCP best reflects the needs of the child. We ensure that all strategies are included and quantified, and any unlawful language is removed, according to the SEN Code of Practice 2014.
We will rewrite the draft EHCP or working document, using the professional advice provided, ensuring that the child/young person can achieve their full potential.
We provide letter/email writing and telephone advice throughout to remind your local authority of their legal obligations.
We charge a flat rate of £25 per hour for EHCP Support. We are happy to agree a time/amount prior to work commencing or charge for work completed and provide a full break-down of the work completed.
